FIRST APPEARANCE: January 1973
LAST APPEARANCE: March 1975
PERFORMER: Elizabeth Farley
EXIT: Left Monticello after the death of her husband.
SPOUSE: Ashley Reynolds (divorced). Vic Lamont (RIP).
RELATIVES: Brian Reynolds (son). Walter LePage (father, RIP).
OCCUPATION: Wealthy daughter of syndicate leader Walter LePage.
Kay Reynolds arrived in Monticello on the heels of her adulterous husband Ashley. Ashley had become involved with Phoebe Smith during her years abroad and followed her when she returned to Monticello in November 1972. Suspicious of Ashley's intentions, Martha Marceau, Phoebe's adopted mother, hired private investigator Joel Gantry to investigate him. Gantry learned that Ashley had been hiding his marriage to Kay and confronted Mrs. Reynolds with her husband's adultery. When a cuckolded Kay insisted that they divorce and cut off his finances, Ashley begged her to stay with him, vowing that he would create a messy, publicly humiliating scandal. He then lied to Phoebe that it was Kay who begged him to stay with her. Kay eventually confronted Phoebe with the truth -theirs was not Ashley's first extramarital. After engaging Jake Berman as her divorce attorney, Kay paid Joel Gantry to gather incrimination evidence of her soon-to-be ex-husband. A stakeout of Ashley's motel room proved fruitful in getting photographic evidence
Following Jake Berman's death, Kay hired Vic Lamont to handle her divorce. Kay was instantly attracted to Vic, despite his new marriage to Laurie Ann Karr. She went to the courtroom every day during his defense of Adam Drake, on trial for Jake's murder. Her constant need for Vic's attention bugged Laurie immensely. One day, she spotted Laurie kissing Johnny Dallas. Kay went to Vic with the news, while offering herself for his consolation. Infuriated, he threw her out of her office and ended their professional relationship. However, Kay had been right. His marriage to Laurie was in trouble, since she had a secret one-night stand with Johnny. When Vic learned about the affair, he went on a drinking binge. Once again, Kay offered herself to help him forget about his wife.
Although Laurie hoped that they could reconcile, Vic couldn't forgive her or Johnny and finally turned to Kay. She convinced him to leave Mike Karr;s law practice and persuaded her father, Walter LePage, to hire Vic as legal counsel for his successful electronics company. LePage coerced Vic into marrying Kay, even though Vic retained conflicting emotions of love and hate for Laurie. His unresolved feelings for his ex-wife and contentious relationship with LePage, who threatened to make him pay if he ever hurt Kay, created an unhappy married life. Things grew even worse when Laurie and Johnny planned to marry. A drunken Vic showed up at their engagement party and made a scenes, hurting Kay deeply.
Shortly after Johnny and Laurie married, Vic confronted Laurie about rumors of Johnny's mob involvement. She impulsively revealed that Johnny had been working undercover with the police to inform on the mob. Vic realized that he had been wrong about Johnny and Laurie's relationship, and he began to see Kay in a different light as well. As 1975 began, Vic decided to forgive everyone, including father-in-law Walter LePage, who unbeknownst to him was actually the head of Monticello's syndicate network. After reassuring Kay that he loved only her, Vic planned a dinner party to reconcile at last with Johnny and Laurie. However, the night of the party, LePage's man Morlock Sevingy arranged to have Johnny killed in a fake hold-up at The New Moon. Vic was present during the robbery and threw himself in front of Johnny just as the hit-man pulled the trigger. Laurie phoned Kay with the terrible news that Vic had been shot. Before she to could get to the hospital, Vic died with Johnny by his side. Distraught, Kay left Monticello.
